Two New on Tap

 NOW ON TAP

Tripel Lindy
Belgian Ale
9.25% ABV

New on Tap this year is a Belgian Tripel known as Lindy.  This beer is dry and fruity.  I've attempted tripels in the past with very unsatisfactory results, I am happy to say that I am happy with this effort.

I've Got a Raging Beanie
American Wild Ale
11% ABV

Another new beer on tap this week is an American Wild Ale called I've Got a Raging Beanie that rounds out the first round of our Patron Inspiration Series.  I can honestly, say I have never put more effort or time into a beer as I have this beer and what has come from it is, in my mind, one of the finest beers I have ever brewed.  As great of a beer as it is it's not even a fraction as great as the woman it is named for.  This beer is named for the most important person that has ever come into my life, my wife Irene Bashore.
For those of you that might be a little confused about the name of this beer, Irene has had a nickname since she was a little girl, Bean, sorry Beanie......your secret is out.  Their are several directions I could go in describing the unbelievable impact this woman has had on my life, she's an amazing person, wife and mother......but this is a beer blog, so lets stick to that.
Irene and my beer evolution basically began together when we were in college (just assume we were of legal drinking age).  I can still remember drinking my first craft beer and Irene sitting right next to me saying, "is it good?  Let me have a drink".  I remember spending cold winter evenings sitting at Crunchy's drinking Arcadia Scotch Ale with her....playing quarters and singing karaoke, or nights at Old Chicago picking the strangest four beers we could for each other.  In an odd way, beer has become a past time for us, something to do and something we enjoy.
It is really no surprise that when I expressed an interest in home brewing Irene was more than supportive, buying basically every piece of equipment I have today.  Not only that, but I can always count on her to be brutally honest about every batch I make.  One style I don't think she's ever criticized me for making are Wild Ales.  So I thought why not make her the biggest baddest beer I could.  The beer started out as a Belgian Tripel, which then had wild bacteria and yeast added to it.  the beer was then aged for 9 months before pineapple and peaches were added and the beer was aged for an additional 3 months on the fruit.  The resulting beer is funky, dry and tart.....and the biggest factor........its 11% ABV.  It'll get you drunk!!!

Thank you for everything you are Beanie.  I love you and I always will.  I am an extremely lucky man to have a woman like you in my life.

Cheers to eternal happiness!!!
