Beer Olympics 2010 Wrap Up

Saturday July, 10th marked the Bashore BrewHaus' 2nd Annual Beer Olympics. This years event was divided up into team events and individual events. Overall, the day seemed to be much more successful than last years event because we eliminated a lot of down time, decreased the drinking a bit so that people weren't vomiting 30 minutes into the event and we were also able to insure that all players could play whatever events they wanted to play. The day started off with picking the 4 teams. The team colors were Black (Blackout), Red (The Red Snappers), Blue (Blue Balls) & Green (The Big, Green, Bumpy, Sweet Pickle). After that we had a video opening ceremony created by Randolph C. Flick II.

When the dust had settled on the day the results were as follows:

Beer Trivia Winner: Irene Bashore

Name That Beer Winner: Jamie Wilmoth

Beirut Winner: Matt Bashore

Baumgartner Hefeweizen

5.0% ABV

Now that Beer Olympics is officially in the books and we don't have to worry about the guest tap of Coors Light on tap we can put something new on tap and specifically for summer. Baumgartner Hefeweizen is a tradition German wheat bier brewed using a single decoction mash in order to give this beer a malty, sweet character. In addition, Baumgartner is great wheat character along with hints of banana and cloves. At 5% ABV it is a perfect session beer for a hot summer day! Stop in and enjoy one on the deck!
